Ronald Keith Wilson
April 3, 1944 - November 7, 2023

Ron Wilson has taken his final cruise after a long, happy life of family, friends and street rods.

Ronald Keith Wilson was born on April 3, 1944 in Buffalo, New York. While he was a young boy his family moved across the country to Pomona, California where he spent his youth cruising the streets and discovering his love of cars. While in California he met the love of his life, Linda Mask. Ron and Linda married in Las Vegas, Nevada and spent the next 55 years side by side. Together they raised four children Cindy (Kyle) Gross, Scott Wilson, James (Tonya) Wilson and Stacy Lopez; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Ron is also loved and will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Alice (Scott) Wilson; siblings Larry Wilson and Candy Wilson.

In 1975 Ron moved his family to Texas where he made a living driving a truck for many years. He enjoyed his life over the road and getting to see the country from his windshield. Through his travels he was able to see landmarks from the Grand Canyon to the Smokey Mountains. Ron was a lover of cars, especially street rods. Whether it was a one-off custom or a classic restore he was an admirer. At anytime Ron could be found with at least one, and usually two, street rods in the driveway. These were no trailer queens! Ron made sure his cars were driven to each car show. To him cars were to be enjoyed, not just seen.

Ron was a founding member of the Over The Hill Gang car club, where he bonded with many friends that shared his love of classic cars and could regularly be seen at local car shows. Rons pride and joy was a 51 Merc, known to car guys as a Led Sled. It wasn't road ready until it was chopped and sectioned. But it really didn't matter if his car had frenched taillights or a quick change rear-end, they all had an old school name that made them uniquely Ron. There is no denying he was ''Plum Wild'' over his hot rods.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday November 18th.
