Melba Joy Hart
June 30, 1954 - May 14, 2024

Joy Hart, 69, of Rockwall, passed away on May 14, 2024, at her residence. A celebration of life will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 23, 2024, in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Rockwall. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Joy was born on June 30, 1954, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Kenneth Hall and Connie Hathcoat Hall. She married Michael Hart on December 16, 2000, at First Baptist Church of Rockwall where they both attend church. Joy was a psychiatric nurse at Terrell State Hospital for 20 years before she retired.
Joy was an avid Stars, Rangers and Cowboys fan. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and served as Queen of the Rockwall Daring Dynamic Darlings.
Joy is survived by her husband Michael Hart, son Daniel Vandergriff and wife Jamie of Guyton, Georgia, daughter Marie-Claire Hart and husband Nathan Hartmangruber of Littleton, Colorado, son Preston Cooke of Tyler, Texas, brothers David Hall and wife Donna, Sam Hall and wife Connie, Rick Hall and Justin Hall, sisters Patsy Parker, Jan McAlvay and husband Tim and Jill Hall, grandchildren Daniel, Elizabeth, Jayden, Kenzie and Emma.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents and sister Dale Hall.
