Alex was born in Dallas, Texas to Joel and Lori Mixson on September 18th, 1989. He was a much loved son, a cherished brother to Adam and Elizabeth and brother in law to Adam's wife, Kim; a proud Uncle to Henry and Frances, grandson to Don and Helen Mixson, nephew to Wanda Withers, Ellen Grant, Jennifer John and husband, Steve, Mike Mixson and wife, Stephanie, and Thomas Withers and wife, Gloria and beloved cousin. Alex was also Dad to his tabby cat Lutz, who he adored.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Betty Withers.
Alex was an outgoing and mischievous child, who loved to play outside with friends and with his siblings. A sensitive soul who felt deeply, Alex many times stepped up and defended others. If you knew Alex well, you knew he would do anything for anybody at any time. He was loving, caring, kind and compassionate towards others and had a great sense of humor.
A talented musician, Alex was a drummer, having played since the age of 8. He played in many different bands along the way, including a band that he and his brother started called Melba Toast and with John David Kent. He traveled the country many times on tour and took beautiful photos of all of his adventures.
Until we meet again,
Love Mom, Dad, Adam, Liz and Kim, and all the rest of your family and friends.
