Shirley was born on January 12, 1936, in Trenton, Texas to James Howard Sandlin and Nellie Faye Cummings Sandlin. Shirley married Rex Flippin on July 14, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She retired from E-Systems after 30 years of service.
Shirley is survived by son, Kelly Garrett and wife Leah, daughters, Ginger Huffman and Lori Buchanan, sister, Debbie Perez, step-children, Tony Flippin and wife Becky, Rexanne McCauley; grandchildren, Cori Cameron, Chaz Garrett, Jacob Huffman, Kelsey Sullivan, Ashli Davis and husband Chance, Whitney Coburn and husband, Bryan, Alex Buchanan and wife, Holly, Matthew McCauley, Sara Mellady and husband Ben, Toby Flippin, and Josh Flippin; sister-in-law, Jenn Sandlin, and fourteen great- grandchildren.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Rex, parents, brothers, Sam Sandlin and Jack Sandlin.
