Arthur Glen Crawford passed away peacefully at his home in Campbell, Texas on July 27, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Arthur was born on February 1, 1931, in Kennett, Missouri, to Zetta Estelle Shumaker, age 22, and Curtis Allen Crawford, age 24. He was the 5th of nine children. He married Dorothy Glynn Hazzard on January 10, 1955, and they had two children.
Arthur enlisted in the Navy immediately after High School and served for more than 20 years; fighting in both the Vietnam and Korean wars. He retired in 1971 as a Lt. Commander.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents Zetta and Curtis Crawford; his wife Dorothy (Hazzard) Crawford; his brothers Richard Crawford, Bobby Crawford, Lloyd Crawford, Floyd Crawford, and Curtis Crawford Jr.; and his sister Jane (Crawford) Branom.
He is survived by his sister Dolly (Crawford) Abbott and Polly (Crawford) McDonald; his son Allen Scott Crawford of Easton, Maryland; his daughter C.J. Crawford of Campbell, Texas; grandchildren Rachel (Crawford) Archer, Mark Crawford, Paul Crawford, Melanie (Crawford) Koogle, Douglas Crawford, Gregory Crawford, and Thomas Crawford; and seven great-grandchildren.
Arthur will be laid to rest beside his wife at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
