Larry Hill Dickard, 75, of Greenville, passed away on October 5, 2023, in Greenville. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Coker Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Details will be announced at the service.

Mr. Dickard was born in Marshall, Texas on June 7, 1948, to Raymond Hall Dickard and Clydia Mae Loyless. He married Patsy Trest Rutherford on October 1, 1990, in Longview, Texas.

Larry enjoyed fishing and collecting coins, but his first love was for playing the trumpet. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam conflict. Larry graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a business degree and worked in management and in Personnel for many years before pursuing his second career as a Registered Nurse. Larry's true passion was for his family. He looked forward to family gatherings during the holidays, to planning trips with the grandkids, and simply watching a football game and enjoying a delicious meal on Sunday afternoons with his wife, Pat. Larry will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Trest Rutherford Dickard; daughter, Erica Rodgers and husband Scott; sons, Aaron Dickard, and John Rutherford, Jr. and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Avery Dickard, Kaylee Dickard Lavin, Blake Rutherford, Lauren Robnett, Mayson Dickard Lavin, Luke Robnett, Emma Rutherford, Ally Dickard Lavin, and Sara Dickard Lavin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Dickard, Sr.; mother, Clydia Mae Dickard; brothers, Raymond Dickard, Jr., Frank Dickard, and Charles Dickard; and sister, Doris Hall.

Pat, I’m so sorry. There just aren’t any words that I can say. I pray for comfort and peace for you and your family. I always enjoyed working with Larry and teasing him. He was always so calm, I know your heart is hurting and I want to give you a big hug.
