Jerry was born on January 18, 1935, in Del Rio, Texas to Charles Harris Shelton and Elizabeth Fern Stroud. She married Virgil (VC) Summers, Jr. on January 17, 1959, at First Methodist Church in Kerrville, Texas where they both grew up and graduated Tivy High School. Jerry went on to attend Schreiner College. After married, they moved to Greenville on January 19, 1959, when V.C. began working at "E-Systems", and she was a housewife for most of their married life. After raising their children, she worked at the Sheriff's Office for several years before they both retired and enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV.
She is survived by her son, Vic Summers and wife, Kathy; daughters, Vicki Cheryl Baggs and Elizabeth Lynn (Lisa) Robnett; grandchildren, Cody Robnett and wife, Lauren, Kyle Robnett, Victoria Cloeren and husband, Stefan, Caroline Grzonka and husband, Mark, and Eric Baggs; along with seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil (VC) Summers, Jr.; parents; granddaughter, Samantha Baggs; siblings, Pat Gaw, Charlene Hardy, Jimmy Bailey and Phillip Shelton and many nieces and nephews.
