To know him, was to love him. He truly was a once in a lifetime man that was a stubborn force to be reckoned with. The word quit was never in his vocabulary, and he never met a challenge that he couldn't throw some tools at. The many years of hard work at not only his job, but doing countless hours of helping out anyone in need showed in his rough and callused hands was true testament to his soft heart, a heart made of pure gold. He had many things that he liked to do such as hunt, fish, go camping, and take things apart and cuss while putting it back together. While all of those things he liked to do, his love, his greatest passion was his family. His love and devotion to his family was truly unmatched. Words cannot express the depths of our sadness that has come with this tremendous loss. To the man who was truly a one of a kind you will be greatly missed. You are so loved and we have all truly been blessed to have had even the briefest moment with you. Our hearts will always hold you, we love you. - The Balentine Family

    To his family -

I am so sorry. I heard about Scott today and I was moved to come and say that my heart goes out to you all.

We take the things in life that Scott helped provide for granted, not realizing the great cost that is paid every day in hard work and sacrifices of men like Scott every day we wake. I never knew him, but seeing the men working yesterday to help restore power to the home of a pregnant woman next to me, this hit a little harder. Scott's work this past decade helped uncountable amount of people through some of the best and hardest moments of their lives.

May you be surrounded by the love of those still with you, and may the memories of him bring you joy in the future.

I've donated to the Fallen Linemen in his memory and for the others that have put themselves at risk to make our lives a little easier each day.

    - Matthew
