Lisa Nicole Evans

Lisa Nicole Evans, 45, of Greenville, TX passed away on July 10, 2024. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 4:00pm at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rochelle Smith leading the service.

Lisa was born March 6, 1979 in Dallas, Texas. Lisa was proud to be a member of our country's foreign service. This work took her to Pakistan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, all tours where American's were at risk. These tours impacted her health for the rest of her life causing her to end her service too soon. While the details of her responsibilities remain classified, we know from those who served with her that she was part of the efforts to disrupt the activities of both terrorists and foreign spies. Lisa loved her family and friends and had the biggest hidden heart you ever would see. She especially loved and spoiled her three nieces. Her fur babies were her world but more than anything she loved her mother, ''her person.'' We take comfort in the fact that she is now reunited with her fur babies, Maxie and Bella, and especially that she is together in heaven with her mommy.

Left to cherish her life, love and memories are her father, John H. Evans; sister, Jennifer Smith and husband Nate; nieces, Mackenzie, Kate and Lillian Smith; grandmother, Mildred Laird; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cathy Laird Evans; grandfather, J.H. Laird; grandmother, Earlene Evans; grandfather John C. Evans.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Lisa to Children's Craniofacial Association. 15851 Dallas Parkway Suite 245, Addisson, TX 75001 or online at ccakids.org; or to any animal rescue center of your choice.

She always had a book she was reading, always watching a movie, always was going new places, always trying new things, always meeting new friend. I'm glad she did. I sure did love me some Nicole. My heart breaks for you John, she loved her daddy, always had such pride in her voice when she spoke about you. I know what it's like to lose a big sissy Jennifer, they were always there to scare away our monsters, we don't know life without them. Mackenzie, Kate and Lillian, I know you know, but man, she loved you girls to death and was sooo very proud of you. Stay weird for her, and chase your dreams. Love to you all.

I am still unable to wrap my head around the fact that Lisa has left us. What I remember is that laugh of hers, and her sense of humor. When I first met her, it was in Geometry class 10th grade year, and she shared my love of reading. I owed more than half of my personal library in High School to her as she would read and share. I always loved that. Through the power of the internet I was able to chat and keep up with her over the years, watching her adventures and the way she loved on her family. To her father, sister, brother-in-law and nieces- my deepest condolences on your loss. I know that she will be missed greatly.
